I remember falling in

love with her voice

probably 25 years ago.

Maybe more.

I always wished

I could sing like her.

To me she was so

perfect and her voice

was on my favorite's

list of most beautiful

woman's voices.

Her passing is so sad

for so many reasons.

I wish her life had

taken her down a

different path with her

talent. For her it

ended way too soon.

What a fun weekend he had at "Nina's".

He loves all of my pets

including the fire belly frogs.

His first time on an

antique covered wagon

I believe.

We spent time at the train

station doing some train

watching.

Sometimes he's just

so serious for a

little less than 3 yrs old.

I'm getting a look here. Serious again while looking at his train pictures. Some neat old antiques

for Nina to look at. Of course every little boy

loves the caboose !

At this age

trains are his passion , lol.

We all know the obsession

starts with

"Thomas".

Such a nice time with him these past 2 days.

He's really growing so

quickly so I cherish these

overnight visits even though

they exhaust "Nina".

Christmas Dinner At The Public House In Sturbridge , Ma.

This is where my husband &

Christmas dinner

the last couple of years.

We usually celebrate the

holiday earlier with our

families . So on

Christmas day this is

just very relaxing &

perfect for just the 2 of us.

It's an old beautiful historic

Inn and the food is

delicious.

The rooms are all so pretty &

the smell of wood fires burning

is in the air.

This year we'll be dining in

The Pumpkin Room .

We usually over- indulge &

enjoy a wonderful leisurely

dinner & when we get home

it's usually time to

relax in our jammies ...lol.

The Quick Passing Of Fall

be so much garden color

bought at a lovely roadside deli

and country store near

the Bridge of Flowers.

We took a pretty Fall

ride last weekend to

Western Mass

and stoppped at

many places along

married a little over

The flowers were still

thriving.

To think that all of this

was almost all washed

Lots of sneezing, coughing,

sore throat, body aches,

headache, chills , sweats,

All I did was sleep yesterday.

Lots & lots of hot tea for me .

The Cracker Barrel.

I'll have to go back there &

stock up !

I think tomorrow I should be

My Home Since The Monson June 1st Tornado

Almost 4 & a half months since

the devastating Monson

tornado on June 1st.

We've cleaned up all of the trees

we lost. It used to be woods

behind my house and I also

had a very large shade tree in

the center of my back yard &

a beautiful flowering

crab apple tree to the left

of my front walk.

We've replaced the roofs on our

house, shed & screen house.

We've painted the exterior.

It used to be a yellow house

with white trim.

We also had to reinforce the

front balcony which was not safe.

Still waiting for our four

broken windows to be replaced.

We lost the railings around our deck

so we decided with the lack of trees

we needed to create our own shade.

We had this pergola built &

will grow a wisteria vine on it.

We already love this spot.

It gives us a relaxing outdoor

room to sit in and look at

the pond or watch the birds.

Back here we have a view of

Main Street which we never had

before. We can also clearly

see the path that the tornado

took.

We still have to have the lawn

regraded & seeded

because it's full of ruts that

you can easily twist your

ankle in.

We've redone one room & one

ceiling inside so far but we also

have damaged ceilings &

wallpaper in 4 more rooms.

I almost forgot about the hallway

and staircase rug we need to rip out.

We're getting there but still

have a ways to go .

It seems like it all just happened

last week. The summer just flew.

A summer I'll never forget !

Time With My Grandson

How time flies ! My

grand baby boy is

now 2.5 years old.

He stayed overnight at "Nana's"

because his mommy just

gave birth to a baby

sister !

It's still all about him.

He really doesn't understand this

sister thing yet.

His new sister will be

in the hospital for awhile still.

She was born 11 weeks

early and weight 3lbs.-6oz.

We always have fun at

the goat farm. He enjoyed feeding the goats half a bag of tositos & kept telling me they were hungry with each and every chip he fed them. Such a typical little boy. He loves climbing so much.

He's either very tired or deep in thought here.

What a beautiful Fall day to spend with my sweet boy.

I'm bummin ' I just started watching it again ! I remember Erica & Brooke when they were teenagers on the show. Tad & Liza were about my age ! It's been on for 45 years & I've watched it on and off throughout those 45 years ! I just started watching it again at night because I have the soap net channel. Yes, they were hooking me again ! Then POOF !!!! All of these people in my life are gone. It's funny how involved we get with the characters. It's like reading a great book that you don't want to end so it goes on for years. Goodbye ALL MY CHILDREN Goodbye to a chapter in my life too.

Sometimes Life Is An Emotional Rollercoaster !!!!!

I just came off of a very hectic week with my sister visiting from Iowa , a family gathering , working at my shop , coordinating things with the people working on my house to do repairs from the tornado , and packing for two wonderful nights away from it all to my favorite place .... Ogunquit beach !!! :o) I was feeling a bit overwhelmed but knew I'd get my break soon.

So we get up early Monday morning and like clock work we are dropping my two pups Minnie & Java at the kennel..... it's 8 am. .................. A half hour down the road my husband says we're right on track , we'll be there around 11. I was happy .......it was pouring buckets but I didn't care ....... I was getting away for the first time this summer. It's been such a rough summer.

Then the cell phone rings ................... I hear my husband say " you'd better talk to my wife ".

I look at him and take the phone and hear the lady from the kennel tell me that Minnie has run away !!!!! One half hour after I drop her off at a place that is suppose to keep my dog safe ......they lose my 15 year old 8 lb poodle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was livid....I was also crying as hard as a person can cry and just thinking the whole time I'd never see my sweet little Minnie again.

I could just picture her wandering around in the pouring rain and thinking a coyote or fisher cat or something might get her and I'll never see her again. You always think the worst.

To make a long story short ..............we search for hours in the pouring rain in the woods & field yelling her name the whole time. We yelled so much that we were losing our voices!

I then came home and posted her picture on facebook and explained she was lost.

Within 30 seconds someone answered saying they had seen her two hours earlier. These people immediately joined us in a search. After 5 hours of being in the pouring rain and getting drenched I came home and changed my clothes and laid on my bed feeling defeated.

All of a sudden the phone rang and my hubby answered. The original person who spotted Minnie hours earlier had my baby ! She found her and took her in the house and wrapped her in a blanket to warm her. We ran to get her and I just sobbed as soon as I saw her and had the little sweetie back in my arms. She was shaking and licking my nose.

It was the power of Facebook that enabled us to get the word out so quickly to everyone local &

for people to communicate to me so quickly!

Needless to say I am soooooooooooooo happy and sooooooooooooooo grateful but there will be no vacation for us and no more kennel for Minnie! Just glad to have her back .

her wrists. She is now facing surgery

tomorrow.

Tornado Aftermath In " My Tranquil Garden "

My Sweet Town Of Monson, Massachusetts

One week ago exactly at

around 5pm

this is what was happening

in my picturesque

little town.

I was in my cellar.

Each and every telephone pole on all

streets were down and wires

everywhere !

Sirens blaring, people yelling

for each other and crying.

The town had just taken a

beating from 160 mph winds!

This is what I see from the front of my

house which still stands.

We lost our roof and almost

every tree in my yard.

I lost my roof ,deck,garden arbor,

garden, and it rained in my home.

My house was built in 1891.

WE ARE ALIVE!

WE STILL HAVE A HOME!

This is what I see from my house! And this is right next door from the house above. This is my friend Laura standing on a pile of rubble which was once her home built in the 1800s.

This church is the "First Church" in Monson , it's where I sit now as I write this post. This church is open right now 24 hours a day to tornado victims. They have been serving 3 meals a day and also have been taking in donations and distributing groceries to all people in need. They've had crews in this heat cooking hot dogs & hamburgers outside on a grill for the entire week too.

They have counseling offered

if it's needed.

They have computers set up

for anyone who needs to

reach someone. They have organized drivers who are making rounds to affected streets with cold drinks and food.

Many people have lost everything. Neighbors are helping each other in any way they can. Many of us were going around and helping our friends dig through the rubble piles that used to be homes to find whatever we could find.

We are all in shock. These photos don't do justice.

We will take each day one at a time. WE ARE ALIVE
